Head of Early Years Programs

Students are eligible for IST Preschool once they are 3 years old, fully potty-trained, and socially and emotionally ready for school. Our Preschool teachers hold at least a Bachelor’s degree (or their country’s equivalent) and have years of teaching experience. Nearly all teachers are native speakers of the language they teach, and come from countries all over the world. Our small class sizes ensure that each child receives the individual attention they need and deserve. This also makes it possible for teachers to be able to differentiate what they are teaching to each child. Each teacher motivates their students, ensuring that the students enjoy their learning process based on their needs and interests. Our Preschool academic year is broken down into six units of inquiry. These units are designed to cover a broad range of topics that are developmentally appropriate for each class. The core subjects are taught within each unit. At the end of each unit, there is either an Expo or a Parent Consultation day. An Expo is a fun event where the children get to show off to their parents what they have learned. ISTPA, IST’s Parent Association, sells pizza for dinner, and it is a fun event for all. Parent Consultation days are when parents attend scheduled meetings with teachers to receive feedback on their child’s progress up to that point.
