It’s been a busy week! We’ve been preparing for Chinese New Year (for more info check Notices and Announcements) and the Middle School visited the Jewish History Museum & Holocaust Center as part of a unit of work on World War II. Students learned about the story of Jewish settlers in Tucson, and their role in building the city. Students learned how different ethnic groups of Tucsonans have been discriminated against in the past. They learned about the Holocaust, specifically the story of Theresa Dubrov, and how her mother saved her from a concentration camp, and how she went on to raise a family. Students learned that antisemitism is a problem that still exists today, and were given the ‘homework’ of being witnesses to history, keeping the stories alive. Overall, it was a really wonderful experience for all.

Hope you all have a happy weekend!
