HAVE TIME AND EXPERTISE YOU CAN SHARE?  The International School Board of Directors is advised by committees who help lend the expertise necessary for informed decision making.  These committees are integral to the well-being of the school.  Members should be drawn from the greater Tucson community as well as the International School community. The Head of School and the Board President participate with committees as ex-officio members.

FUNDRAISING/DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE

Fundraising/Development committee works to identify sources of support within the greater community.  Members of the committee must be able to present the International School mission to the greater community.  Fundraising must dovetail with the Strategic Plan for the school and work within those parameters to design a plan for donor opportunities.

Fundraising:

* Creates annual goals for fundraising
* Takes the lead in educating the board about fund-raising and involve them in the fundraising process

Development/Community Relations

*Network with local press – press releases, Community Calendar, reporters, billboards
* Identify and network with potential donors
* Stakeholder Celebrations

FINANCE COMMITTEE

Members of the finance committee are especially important to the Board of Directors.  This committee reports to the board of directors and is tasked with advising the board as it works to:

* Ensures long-term financial health of the school
*Review and approves the annual budget
* Create financial policies
*Investigate the creation of alternative revenue streams
*Work with the designated professional audit person on contract with the school, who reports quarterly to the board
